Oriana Small, known professionally as Ashley Blue, is an American performer, director, writer, radio host, and memoirist whose career has centered on adult entertainment. She appeared in more than 300 films and directed 17 features. During the 2000s, she worked under contract with JM Productions and appeared in the company’s Girlvert series before that contract ended in 2007.
Her work received major industry recognition during that period. Blue won the 2004 AVN Award for Female Performer of the Year and the 2005 AVN Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also received the 2004 XRCO Award for Female Performer of the Year and the 2005 Adam Film World Guide Award for Female Performer of the Year. Later, she was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2013 and the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2021.
Beyond film work, Blue held several media roles. She co-hosted Playboy TV’s Night Calls Hotline, hosted her own show on Vivid Radio, and wrote for Hustler magazine. In 2006, she was featured in a Howard Stern on Demand episode focused on her career, and she also provided voice acting for the cartoon Three Thug Mice. These projects placed her on television, radio, in print, and in animation.
In 2011, Blue published her memoir Girlvert, which reflects on nearly ten years in the adult entertainment industry. The memoir was published under her JM Productions stage name, Girlvert. The same year, she was among the performers who modeled for a series of paintings by Swedish artist Karl Backman.
