Carter Cruise is an American DJ, record producer, podcaster, and former adult film actress. She enrolled at East Carolina University in 2009, where she studied psychology and pre-law, before leaving in late 2013 to pursue entertainment work full time. Before that career shift, she worked as a lifeguard and at Hooters.
Cruise entered the adult film business in 2013 and made her screen debut that August after contacting the Florida talent agency East Coast Talents. She relocated to Los Angeles in March 2014 and signed with Spiegler Girls in June, the same month she appeared in AVN’s “fresh” issue. Among her credited film work, she took the lead role in Second Chances, a 2014 romance feature directed by Jacky St. James and produced by New Sensations.
In 2015, Cruise became the second performer to win AVN Awards for Best New Starlet and Best Actress in the same year, following Jenna Jameson in 1996. Later that year, in October, she signed an exclusive one-year contract with Axel Braun Productions. She also drew wider media attention through a 2014 Cosmopolitan.com profile in the site’s “Sex Work” series, and CNBC included her in its 2016 list of the 12 most popular adult film actresses.
Alongside her screen career, Cruise developed music and writing projects. In a 2014 interview, she said she was working on several songs and writing for various outlets, including advice blogs. In 2015, she appeared on the single “DUNNIT” by Styles&Complete. She began DJing at college fraternity parties in 2017 and released her debut single, “Everybody Nose Me,” that year. In August 2018, she released her debut EP, Send Moods, and in 2019 she said she was working on a follow-up EP titled Sin Music.
