Cherie DeVille — Biography & Career
Cherie DeVille, born August 30, 1978, is an American performer and writer whose career followed earlier work in health care. She earned a doctorate in physical therapy and worked as a licensed clinician in Tennessee before changing careers in 2011. After moving to California at age 32, she began working in adult film. In a 2018 interview, she said she was filming about 200 scenes a year while still practicing physical therapy part time.
Alongside her screen career, DeVille built a substantial online presence through direct-audience platforms and social media. She has published writing in Rolling Stone and The Daily Beast. By 2018, coverage of her work highlighted both her volume of production and her visibility online, making digital media an important part of her public profile.
DeVille also entered public life through politics and advocacy. In 2017, she announced an independent campaign for president of the United States with rapper Coolio as her running mate. She suspended that campaign in January 2019 and endorsed Bernie Sanders for president. In 2021, she urged Utah Governor Spencer Cox to veto a device-filtering bill on First Amendment grounds. In 2023, she appeared in a video criticizing Utah's age-verification law as a risk to user privacy.
Her other media appearances include a 2022 advertisement for the canned-water brand Liquid Death that promoted alternatives to single-use plastic packaging. In 2023, she appeared in the Netflix documentary Money Shot: The Pornhub Story. Those projects added commercial and documentary credits to a career that also includes writing and political advocacy.
