Gina Lynn — Biography & Career

Gina Lynn, the professional name of Tanya Mercado, is an American former screen performer and model whose career included acting and directing, along with selected appearances in film, television, and music videos. In June 2000, she signed a one-year exclusive performing contract with Pleasure Productions, establishing an early formal partnership in her career.

Her credits soon extended beyond that work. In 2002, she made a cameo in Analyze That. Beginning with the fourth season of the television series The Sopranos, she appeared periodically in scenes set at the Bada Bing! club, which were filmed at Satin Dolls. In 2003, she appeared as the love interest of American rapper Eminem in the music video for “Superman,” adding a music video credit to her screen résumé.

Lynn also developed work behind the camera. By 2009, she was still making films for Pleasure Productions while also working through her own company, Gina Lynn Productions. She directed as well, with more than 20 films to her credit. In 2006, the Detroit newspaper Metro Times published an interview with her, and in 2009 she appeared in the film Minghags, playing the half sister of Lenny, a character portrayed by Bam Margera.

Her later career brought recognition and a transition away from performance. She was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2010. In March 2012, Penthouse announced her as its Penthouse Pet for April 2012. At the end of that month, she said she had retired from the industry, while continuing to appear on webcams.
