Jill Kelly — Biography & Career
Jill Kelly, born in Pomona, California, on February 1, 1971, is an American adult film performer, director, and producer. Her professional name was drawn from the surnames of two Charlie’s Angels characters associated with Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith. After beginning as a dancer in Southern California, she expanded her work into screen performance and later into directing and production.
Alongside her work in adult film, Kelly developed a mainstream screen résumé that included more than 50 B movies. Among the titles cited in her filmography are The Legend of the Roller Blade Seven, Toad Warriors, and Big Sister 2000. In the spring of 1998, she also appeared in Spike Lee’s He Got Game, adding a studio feature credit to her broader acting career.
In October 1998, she founded Jill Kelly Productions, extending her career into company leadership and production. The business continued until its 2005 bankruptcy filing. In April of that year, Penthouse magazine acquired the company’s assets for $1.765 million. The sale included the Jill Kelly Productions back catalogue as well as nearly 60 unreleased features.
Kelly’s industry recognition spans more than a decade. She received AVN and XRCO awards in 1996 and 1997, was named XRCO Female Performer of the Year in 1998, and won Hot d’Or Best American Actress and NightMoves Best Actress honors in 1999. She later received FOXE awards in 2001, 2002, and 2003, was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2003 and the NightMoves Hall of Fame in 2007, earned the Free Speech Coalition Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006, and joined the Legends of Erotica Hall of Fame in 2011.
