Manuel Ferrara — Biography & Career

Manuel Jeannin, known professionally as Manuel Ferrara, is a French adult entertainer and director. He began working in adult films in 1997 while studying to become a physical education teacher, after answering an advertisement in a French magazine. He first appeared in French and other European productions and adopted his professional name because of a resemblance to actor Stéphane Ferrara.

Ferrara later became a protégé of Rocco Siffredi, who recommended him for a role in John Stagliano's Fashionistas, marking his American debut. In 2002 he appeared in Snoop Dogg's Hustlaz: Diary of a Pimp. He moved into directing in 2003 with Platinum X Pictures, a subsidiary of Red Light District Video, began directing for Red Light in 2004, and joined Evil Angel in May 2006. His first film for Evil Angel was Evilution, and he later directed several series for the company.

Beyond adult releases, Ferrara appeared with Riley Steele on the television program Manswers on 23 December 2010. In 2012 he appeared with Zoe Voss in the mainstream film Starlet. Across his screen career, he appeared in about 2,200 videos. On 22 January 2012 he became the first actor to win AVN's Male Performer of the Year award four times, and he earned a fifth win on 18 January 2014.

Ferrara has won more than 64 adult industry awards. His AVN honors include Male Foreign Performer of the Year in 2004 and Male Performer of the Year in 2005, 2006, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2019, giving him a record six wins in that category. He was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2013 and is also a member of the XRCO Hall of Fame. In 2021, he received AVN nominations for Director of the Year and Male Performer of the Year.
