Rayveness — Biography & Career
Rayveness (born 1972) is an American screen performer whose career spans adult productions as well as mainstream film and television. Her first adult-film appearance came at 18 in a homemade recording. Before working more extensively on screen, she sold flowers in nightclubs and also worked as a waitress and a stripper, building a varied résumé before establishing herself as a regular performer.
In 2000, she stepped away from adult film to pursue mainstream acting. During that period, she took a speaking role on the television series NYPD Blue and appeared in the film Path to War as Lynda, the eldest daughter of President Lyndon B. Johnson. She returned to adult film in 2003 after the death of director John Frankenheimer, who had been her primary connection to mainstream opportunities.
A later milestone came in July 2009, when she became the first contract star for the all-female studio Girlfriends Films, an arrangement that still allowed her to continue other work outside the company. Her long run in the field was subsequently recognized with induction into both the XRCO Hall of Fame and the AVN Hall of Fame.
In 2004, she filed a petition with Congressman Brad Sherman seeking to raise the minimum age for adult-film performers from 18 to 21. Years later, in 2019, she appeared alongside Lisa Ann and Cory Chase in “Infinite Game,” an episode of the Showtime series Billions.
Her credits include feature films, episodic television, and a notable past studio contract, reflecting a career that has moved between adult and mainstream screen work.
