Stacy Valentine — Biography & Career
Stacy Valentine, born Stacy Baker on August 9, 1970, is an American former adult film performer whose screen career ran from 1996 to 2000. Before entering films, she appeared in Gallery magazine's 'Girl Next Door' amateur photo contest and won, a result that led to a follow-up spread in Hustler magazine. During a Hustler shoot in Mexico, she also appeared in a layout for Rage, an affiliated publication.
Valentine later explained that her professional name came from the date of her first film appearance, February 14, 1996. Soon afterward, she moved to Los Angeles to work as a full-time performer. She later said that she had entered the business with clear goals, including becoming a contract performer and earning major industry awards, and that she chose to leave after reaching those milestones. Her final film was made in 2000.
In the late 1990s, Valentine was the central subject of Christine Fugate's 1999 documentary The Girl Next Door, a project filmed over two years. The documentary also included appearances by Nina Hartley, Jenna Jameson, and Julian Andretti. It provided a nonfiction screen portrait of Valentine during the later part of her active career.
Her career recognition included the 1997 XRCO Award for Best New Starlet and a 1997 Editor's Choice award in the same category. In 1998, she received the F.O.X.E. Award for Female Fan Favorite, shared with Jenna Jameson, Tiffany Mynx, and Stephanie Swift, as well as the Hot d'Or award for Best American Starlet. In 1999, she won the XRCO Award for Female Performer of the Year, shared the F.O.X.E. Award for Female Fan Favorite with Alisha Klass and Christi Lake, and received the Barcelona International Award for Best Actress. She was inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2009 and the AVN Hall of Fame in 2012.
