Casey Calvert — Biography & Career
Casey Calvert is an American adult film actress, director, producer, and writer. A graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in telecommunications and minors in anthropology and zoology, she adopted her professional surname from professor Clay Calvert. She began her career as an art model at 21 and started appearing in adult films in 2012. She launched her own website in 2014.
Calvert was nominated for the XRCO Award for Best New Starlet in 2014, won the XRCO Unsung Siren Award in 2015, received an AVN Award in 2017, and earned a second XRCO Unsung Siren Award in 2018. She also appeared on a 2015 USC School of Cinematic Arts panel on the overlap between Hollywood and adult entertainment.
Alongside screen work, Calvert built a writing career. In 2015, she began contributing to GameLink and The Huffington Post, and she later wrote for outlets including Cosmopolitan, UPROXX, Refinery29, The Daily Beast, Mandatory.com, and CraveOnline. She also contributed an essay to the 2015 anthology Coming Out Like a Porn Star, edited by Jiz Lee. In 2016, she led an XBIZ seminar on how adult scenes are filmed and edited.
Calvert later expanded into directing and producing. She developed experience through custom video production, then in 2019 Gamma Entertainment hired her to direct for the Adult Time platform; her debut there was the series Maid for Each Other. She was also actor, writer, and casting director on The Starlet: A Casey Calvert Story. Erika Lust later hired her to write and direct the LustCinema series Primary, a six-episode production set in Los Angeles. By 2020, directing accounted for half of her professional time, and she appeared on an AVN Adult Entertainment Expo panel about moving from performance into directing.
