Ginger Lynn — Biography & Career
Ginger Lynn Allen (born December 14, 1962) is an American screen performer, model, and actress whose career began in California in the early 1980s. After signing with the World Modeling Agency in September 1983, she appeared in pictorials for Cheri, Club, Hustler, and Penthouse. By December of that year, she had started performing under the name Ginger Lynn, establishing the screen identity that made her widely known.
During the mid-1980s, Allen became a prominent figure in adult cinema. She had her own line of videos through Vivid Entertainment, signed with Vivid founder Steven Hirsch, and was identified as the company's first Vivid Girl. In 1985, she received AVN's Best New Starlet award. She was later inducted into the AVN and XRCO Halls of Fame and is also a member of the NightMoves and Urban X Halls of Fame.
In 1986, Allen left that sector of the industry and began working in mainstream productions under her full name. Her film and television credits include Young Guns II, the Vice Academy series, Super Force, NYPD Blue, Silk Stalkings, and Skin. She also appeared in American Pie Presents: Band Camp, The Devil's Rejects, and 31, contributed vocals to the 1986 single Fantasy World, and appeared in interactive movie segments for the Wing Commander games.
Allen returned to adult-film performance in 1999, with credits that continued into the 2000s, and in March 2006 she became a host of Playboy Radio's Sirius Satellite Radio program Night Calls Radio alongside Christy Canyon. Her work has also included directing, beginning with Lingerie Gallery in 1994 and later entries in the Ultimate Reel People series. Additional mainstream credits listed for the 2010s and 2020s include Streets of Vengeance, New York Ninja, Pig Killer, Murdercise, Doctor Deathface, and Dorothea.
