Jenna Jameson — Biography & Career
Jenna Jameson, born Jenna Marie Massoli on April 9, 1974, is an American businesswoman, writer, television personality, and former adult film performer. She began appearing in adult videos in 1993, and Wicked Pictures signed her to an exclusive contract in 1995. In 1996, she won the XRCO Best New Starlet, AVN Best New Starlet, and F.O.X.E. Video Vixen awards, becoming the first performer to receive all three in the same year. She later received more than 35 adult-video awards and was inducted into the AVN and XRCO halls of fame.
In 2000, Jameson co-founded ClubJenna with Jay Grdina. What began as a single website grew into a larger business that managed sites for other performers and moved into film production in 2001. Its first release, Briana Loves Jenna, was recognized at the 2003 AVN Awards as the best-selling and best-renting title of 2002. Jameson also directed The Provocateur in 2005; it was released in 2006 as Jenna's Provocateur. In June 2006, Playboy Enterprises acquired ClubJenna and retained Jameson and Grdina as contracted executives.
Alongside her industry career, Jameson developed a mainstream screen presence. She had a minor role in Howard Stern's 1997 film Private Parts, voiced herself in a 2001 episode of Family Guy, and appeared in Eminem's 2002 video for “Without Me.” In video games, she voiced a character in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and won the 2003 G-Phoria award for Best Live Action or Voice Performance, Female.
Her 2004 autobiography, co-written with Neil Strauss and published by ReganBooks, won that year's XRCO Mainstream's Adult Media Favorite award. She later published the novel Sugar with Hope Tarr in 2013. Jameson announced her retirement from adult-film performances at the 2008 AVN Awards, later worked as a webcam model, and joined Celebrity Big Brother in 2015.
