Monica Mayhem

Monica Mayhem — Biography & Career

Monica Mayhem, born in Brisbane, Queensland, on 14 March 1978, is an Australian former performer whose career included screen work, dancing, music, and publishing. She is of Australian and Welsh heritage. Before entering entertainment, she worked in financial markets and futures trading in Sydney, then moved to London for a role with an International Petroleum Exchange brokerage. That background gave her an unusual route into a public career that later extended across several media and industries.

She began in entertainment as a dancer at the Spearmint Rhino on Tottenham Court Road. Her first screen credit followed soon after in a production with Lee Stone. In 2002, she received two industry awards, winning the XRCO Award for Starlet of the Year and the FOXE Award for Vixen of the Year. Those early honors marked the first major milestone of her screen career.

Mayhem also pursued music outside film. She performed as a singer and guitarist in the all-girl metal band Sweet Avenge, adding live performance to her professional résumé. In 2008, she appeared in a small role in the feature film Sex and the City, a mainstream screen credit alongside her other work in entertainment and media.

Her work as an author followed soon after. In 2009, Random House Australia released her autobiography in Australia, and Skyhorse Publishing issued the North American edition in 2010. In August 2010, she announced her retirement from pornographic acting after appearing in more than 400 films. Her professional record spans finance, dancing, screen performance, music, and publishing.
