Rebecca Lord — Biography & Career
Rebecca Lord, born in 1973, is a French adult film performer, director, and producer whose screen career began in 1993. After answering a newspaper advertisement seeking a model for a film directed by Patrice Cabanel, she entered the industry and first appeared under the names Rebecca Carre and Rebecca Bruns. In 1994, director David Caroll introduced the stage name Rebecca Lords; a crediting error dropped the final "s," and she thereafter worked professionally as Rebecca Lord.
Also in 1994, Swedish director Nic Cramer cast her in Euro-max 2 and Euro-max 3, work that helped introduce her to the American side of the business. She soon moved from France to Los Angeles and quickly established herself in the United States, where she had appeared in more than 200 films by 2007. Alongside performing, she directed and produced several projects through her company, Rebecca Lord Productions. Her screen work became less frequent after 2003, although she publicly rejected retirement rumors in 2004, 2005, and 2007.
Outside adult film, Lord appeared in George Michael's 1998 music video for "Outside" and made guest appearances on The Howard Stern Show in November 1999 and June 2001. In 2005, she co-starred in the independent film I Am a Sex Addict, a non-pornographic role that broadened her screen work beyond the adult industry. During her years in the United States, she lived in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and New York City.
By 2007, Lord was living in France. In February 2016, she published the autobiography To My Dear Civilians, With Love, co-authored with Brian Whitney. In 2013, she was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame.
