Shayla LaVeaux — Biography & Career
Shayla LaVeaux, born December 27, 1969, is a former American adult film performer and exotic dancer. Born in Golden, Colorado, she graduated from Wheat Ridge High School before beginning her professional career in adult entertainment.
At 18, LaVeaux started dancing at Shotgun Willie's in Glendale, Colorado, and later performed at bachelor parties. She expanded her visibility by modeling for men's magazines including Playboy, Penthouse, and Hustler, building a profile before moving into film work. Those roles preceded her move from local dancing work to magazine modeling and then to film performance in adult entertainment.
She began appearing in adult films in 1992 after accompanying Alexis DeVell to a shoot and being asked to replace a performer who did not arrive. In 1993, she worked as a contract performer for director Paul Norman, and she later held a one-year contract with VCA Pictures. Beyond live-action productions, she also did voice work for animated adult projects.
LaVeaux received major industry recognition in 1994, winning the Adam Film World Award for New Starlet, the AVN Award for Best New Starlet, and the XRCO Award for New Starlet. Those honors marked her emergence as a prominent new performer during the period.
Her later recognition included the Free Speech Coalition Positive Image Award and induction into the AVN Hall of Fame, both in 2001, followed by induction into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2008. Taken together, these credits and honors place her among the notable figures of 1990s adult entertainment and its related media.
