Tanya Tate — Biography & Career
Tanya Tate is an English glamour model, writer, international cosplayer, and screen performer whose on-screen career began in 2009. In 2010 she started a regular column for the British adult magazine Ravers DVD. Her stage name reflects her interest in comic books and the alliterative naming style associated with Stan Lee. In 2023 she was inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame.
She moved into directing in 2011 with her first film for Filly Films and followed it in 2012 with two more releases for the company. A series bearing her name ended in March 2013. On 5 December 2013 she hosted the fourth annual SHAFTA Awards in Leicester Square. The following month she served as Hot Vidéo magazine's correspondent at the AVN Awards, conducting red-carpet interviews.
Cosplay became a parallel strand of her public work after her 2010 San Diego Comic-Con debut as Emma Frost attracted media attention. That appearance led to her first book, Tanya Tate: My Life in Costume. She later wrote for WorldOfSuperheroes.com and Geekscape.net, and in 2011 she launched a Comic-Con-linked costume design contest.
In 2013 she was the cover model for the Turkish edition of FHM and appeared in Deborah Anderson's documentary Aroused. Her other media and merchandising projects included regular appearances on Babestation, Studio66, and Red Light Central in early 2011, syndicated blogs for HollywoodGoneGeek.com and FirstComicsNews.com in 2013, the introduction of the comic-book character Lady Titan at WonderCon in 2014, and the launch of her My Hero Toys figure line that year.
